Who are you?

We’re Mike and Mikey (The Radio Mikes). We’re a couple of knuckleheads that love radio communications and do our best to teach anyone and everyone who is willing how to operate radios and help achieve your comms goals. We also like to camp, hike, hunt, take pictures, drink whiskey, hangout with our wives and eat smoked meats.

Will you help me get my HAM License?

While we are both Amateur Radio Operators we tend to focus on all other aspects of radio communication for our classes. The simple reason is that HAM Radio Operators are plentiful and willing to teach you for free. If you want a streamlined setup for your plate carrier or rig we’re the guys to go to.

Do you sell firearms?

Absolutely not. While we’re both pro 2nd amendment, this site is all about radios and communications and we will never try to sell you a firearm or firearm accessory on this site.

Which radio should I buy?

This is our most asked question. What’s your mission? What’s your budget? What are your radio goals? There are a lot of variables to answer this question. We do offer a class on Which Radio service is right for me? Check us out next time we’re in your town or catch a class locally in the Great State of Idaho.

Are you guys affiliated with ___________ political group?

Absolutely not. This is about radios & communications, and we believe that’s a skill for everyone. We will gladly teach groups from all walks of life who are interested in learning how to stay-in-touch… Except Nazis. We don’t teach Nazis how to use radios.

Where did the name HXC Comms come from?

Tell me you’ve never listened to Cro-Mags without telling me you’ve never listened to Cro-Mags.

How much do you charge to teach a class?

This is our second most asked question, and just like the radio question it has a lot of variables. I would recommend heading over to the Classes & Consultation section of our web page and dropping us an email.
